I THINK IN LEMON YELLOWFine artist based in Manchester
Norwich University of Arts (2014-2017), BA Fine Art Artist Statement I consider my paintings and drawings as visual maps, comparable to architectural floor plans. The motivation behind them is to narrate my surroundings through many perspectives, examining them in relation to my stream of consciousness. The work involves looking through multiple lenses simultaneously, such as relating the above to the geometric depiction of empty space; deriving structure from thoughts and feelings over physicality. I take interest in digital space and connectivity, and I'm regularly inspired by the practice of Molly Soda and writings of Chelsea Hodson, who both encompass themes of vulnerability, contemporary feminism and 'the gaze' in their projects. My practice is a place of comfort and control, working with the poetics of order as to meditate on issues of existentialism and anxiety. Commissions !!!
